Become a Promoter and Make a Real Difference

In 2008

  • 135 shows promoted in 20 communities
  • 100 volunteers contributed 1500 hours of time (approximately)
  • 6365 people attended screenings making an average of over 45 per screening
  • 54 volunteers attended projectionist training

How does it Work?

Creative Arts East provides technical training and access to properly maintained, up-to-date, digital equipment and demountable screen. Training covers assembly of the screen and technical know-how as well as health and safety advice.

We provide access to 4 sets of properly maintained, up-to-date cinema equipment which can be booked after attending training.

We provide help and advice with programming and marketing.

The Village Screen website provides a members area with an equipment booking system and downloadable forms and guides.

What does being a Promoter involve?

Gathering together a team of volunteers to help organise and promote the event

Booking equipment using the online booking system

Booking the venue and ensuring that it is properly licensed with the local council

Selecting and booking a film to screen

Producing and distributing fliers and promotional material

Acknowledging the partnership with Creative Arts East verbally and visually wherever possible

Completing return forms to Creative Arts East and to the film distributor

If you are interested in bringing Village Screen to your local community venue then take a look at our Village Screen Guide and then make an Expression of Interest. You will be contacted shortly to discuss how it can work for you.
